Bishop Gorman heads to the post-season undefeated following its 49-0 victory over Palo Verde.  At 10-0, the No. 1 ranked team in the nation took down five teams in the DigitalSports’ Top 100, three of which are in the Top 25.

On October 30, the Gaels traveled to Palo Verde to hand the Panthers their first league loss of the years.

Sophomore Tate Martell was on his usual fantastic form, completing 8 of 12 passes for 175 yards and two touchdowns.  Tyjon Lindsey and Alize Jones were on the receiving ends of the scores.

Russell Booze, Gorman’s all-star running back, only need 13 carries to gain 187 yards and three TDs.  With other scores from Jonathan Shumaker and Biaggio Walsh, the Gaels scored five of their seven touchdowns on the ground.

Farrell Hester led the defense with 12 total tackles, five solo and seven assists.  Nela Otukolo was right with him bringing down a combined 11 tackles, seven on his own.  Gorman’s defense stuffed Palo Verde every step of the way, keeping the talented Panthers’ offense off the board.

Now the Gaels move on to the playoffs.  Gorman opens up their post-season against Desert Oasis on November 7 in the NIAA Division 1 Sunset Region first round.
